AMOR MARTIS
Comfort, edgy, and efficiency.
I would describe myself as a feminine, modern, and a little bit of edgy. I like asymmetrical silhouettes, oversized and puffy sleeve, yet drapes and knots that complements the body. Therefore, I wanted to express my design in the beauty of silhouettes that enhance the natural beauty of a woman such as wrap-around, S/A-line, skin-to-skin, and soft but structured material such as shirt cotton and knit/jersey that deeply portrays the calmness and feminity of women.
Amor Martis is closely related to motherhood. Chained and looping textile innovation of weaving, knotless netting, and laser cut printing on some of my designs, to portrait the soft yet toughness characteristic of a mother. Meanwhile, adding a vivid detail on the garment such as fringe trims, tassels, and various style of organic pleated stripes came from the inspirational photographies that is traditional and tribal, organic genre.
On a personal level, I would express my childhood memories with my mother as a lot of ups and downs, creating a special bond including with my entire family member which I actualize by using techniques such as layering, white glue prints, netting and bojagi techniques in most of my textiles.
